A Bench for a Master

Following on the success of the Oak Hill School Garden project, and the tireless energy of Master Gardener Señor Buck, I was commissioned to design and build a bench in his honor.

As juniper was the material of chioce for the garden fence, I resorted to it again. At this time there was a lot of it being cut down as a thirsty invasive species in Eastern Oregon, and with its highly rot resistant nature, it was a good fit for this.

The wood has since dulled to a grey and we added a dedication plaque to its back. I still have a small jug of the oil finish, and am hoping to get by for a touch sand and to apply another coat one of these days. . .
