This sprawling Mediterranean house on a large lot in Eugene featured a back porch that had only partially been incorporated into the main living area. With this project we fully incorporated it as a Great Room adjacent to the kitchen where much of daily life happens. Now it is both connected to the house and its lovely setting.

Light animates the space by day. It is a plaster and stucco home, with slightly textured surfaces and integral color throughout, and these react to the variable lighting conditions through the day.

Bold casing profiles were used outside the house when originally built, and we played with those both inside and out. NW Door & Sash made the windows and doors, and Architectural Millwork provided the custom casings.
