Working with the owner's idea about a pool-side game, we used a combination of integrally colored concrete and acid etching to create this life-size Scrabble board. Then for the wood tile pieces, we turned to port-orford cedar and a laser cutter to etch them.

For the storage box and racks, we ran into a 1-man sheet metal shop I'd been using for years, where we were guided to aluminum sheet, which we broke right there as we detailed it on the shop table with wood game-pieces in hand.
