This cahrming bungalow porch was dark, clunky, and an entire loss strucutrally, but that gave us a chance to re-envisoin new proportions, rhythms, and combinations of materials for a complete rebuild.
Falling back on landscape, planters, and ample seating, an integrated and open space revealed itself.
The design process was fun as we shared observations back and forth with the owners from other inspriing historic porches for a healthy round of schematic design discussions.
And there was a good collaborative process during construction too, which made it all the better.
